Jim is among the most dedicated land professionals from around the globe, belonging to an elite group of 470 land specialists who hold the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation. The REALTORS® Land Institute confers the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation only to its members who meet the rigorous knowledge and experience requirements. He is the only ALC designated broker in Huerfano and Las Animas counties. Jim lived in rural Boulder County, attended high school and college in Boulder, Colorado and has been familiar with the Spanish Peaks region for decades and has owned various mountain, ranching, remote properties in the area since 2001. Northern New Mexico was a favorite camping destination in his teenage years.
Jim loves to flyfish, hike, camp, ski, hunt and just about anything outdoors. If you are real nice you may be able to get a favorite fishing spot or two from him. He’s been bucking hay, mucking stalls, falling off horses , and chasing critters on land and in water for decades . if you are looking for an AG, hunting, or mountain recreational property Jim would love to help.
Jim was a US Coast Guard licensed boat captain, and has been a USPTA certified tennis professional for 34 years. His latest passion is endurance cycling and this is a fantastic area for it. Bring your bike!
He worked many years for ITT Community Development Corp., the largest real estate developer in Florida at the time, as Director of Marina, Swim, Beach, Fitness, and Tennis Operations. He also had the privilege of developing two major tennis complexes in Florida.

Sarah and her husband Aaron recently moved to the Spanish Peaks area from Eagle County, Colorado, seeking the quieter, gentler pace of life in this bit of unspoiled Colorado. Having found their dream home here in Huerfano County, a 200 acre farm/ranch between Walsenburg and La Veta, they are quickly becoming involved in the local community.
Sarah has worked in the real estate industry as President of her family owned mortgage business for the past 21 years. Her commitment to exceptional and ethical service mirrors that of Rare West Properties, and she is looking forward to working with buyers and sellers in their property transactions, finding just the right opportunity and fit for their dreams.
